Thomas Michael Schmit, 59, Pulaski, passed away on Wednesday, Dec 22nd, 2021 in the Bellin Hospital Covid ICU. He died peacefully in the presence of his family. Thomas (Tom) was born on February 3, 1962, in Oconto, WI to his late parents, Eugene C. and Eunice (Henne) Schmit. He was the youngest of 7 children. Tom was together with his wife and high school sweetheart Rhonda for 43 years and married for 36 years. Together they had four beautiful children and two grandchildren.

Tom had a vibrant personality, a roaring laugh, and a servants heart. He was passionate about his faith and was involved in many church ministries throughout his lifetime. We know he is at peace with the Lord and that heaven will enjoy his sense of humor. Tom loved working with his hands, playing competitive card games with his children, and making food for those he loved. He was an entrepreneur, a story teller, friend to many, and loved people well. Tom ran a marine repair business in Pulaski called Tom’s Marine Service and put integrity and care into each customer’s boat.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Rhonda (Schuh)Schmit, children: Katelyn (Michael) Mohr, Elizabeth (Matthew) Courchaine, Trevor (special friend Olivia Welsing) and Isaac Schmit. He will also leave behind his precious grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings: Joanne Rhode, Richard Schmit, Robert Schmit, Patricia (Lloyd) Heier, and Pamela (Reuben) Meisner. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, William Schmit.

Cremation services are being cared for by Marnocha Funeral Home in Pulaski, WI. The immediate family will have an intimate gathering this summer near the waters of Oconto that Tom loved so much. The family is grateful and would like to thank Bellin Hospital and it’s Covid ICU team for the quality care Tom received at the end of his life.
