
Mayme A. Nowak, 94, Navarino, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The daughter of Frank and Anna (Swiecichowski) Kaminecki was born, July 6, 1928, in Green Bay.
Mayme graduated from Bonduel High School in 1945. On August 7, 1948, she married Leonard Nowak at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino. The couple farmed in the Town of Lessor for many years. Mayme was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend to all who were fortunate to know her. She waitressed for over 60 years at Kropp’s Supper Club in Mill Center and cherished all the relationships she forged there over the years. She was also the bookkeeper for Nowak Trucking and, at the age of 54, she obtained her realtor’s license.
Mayme lived a life in service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and did all in her power to dedicate herself to his Glory. She was a catechist at St. Lawrence for many years. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, and word puzzles. With a few letters, Mayme would solve the Wheel of Fortune. She also had an interest in genealogy and a strong desire to continue to learn each and every day.
Survivors include six children: Gerald Nowak, Donald (Julie) Nowak, David (Pamela) Nowak, Judith (Thomas) Bluma, Doreen (Steven) Skinkis, and Douglas (Karen) Nowak; 17 grandchildren: Bret (Laura) Nowak, Brandon (Caylee) Nowak, Nickolas (Julia) Nowak, Becky (Sam) Krings, Mike (Heidi) Nowak, Craig (Melissa) Nowak, Sammie (Nate) Anderson, Brett Bluma (Bethani) , Lindsay (Matt) Fisher, Kaylyn Bluma (Eli), Janelle (Mikal) Gill, Matthew (Stephanie) Skinkis, Daniel (Liza) Skinkis, Michelle (Alex) Thompson, Kristine (Adam) Decker, Jared (Maggie) Skinkis, and Victoria Nowak (fiancée, Tyler); 33 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Alice Rozmiarek.
In addition to her husband, Leonard Nowak, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Kaminecki; sisters: Clara Lukasik and Emily Richter; a brother, Ronald Kaminecki; three great-grandchildren: Lydia, Dominic, and Kellin; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, W5125 St. Hwy. 156, Bonduel (Navarino), Saturday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. until 12 Noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon with Fr. David Greskowiak presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
