
Gerald “Jerry” McGlinn, 63, Oshkosh, died Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his home. The son of Robert and Doris (Wierzinski) McGlinn was born December 16, 1959 in Green Bay.
Jerry grew up in northeastern Wisconsin, graduating from Bay Port High School. Following high school, he continued his education at Northwest Wisconsin Technical Institute earning an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Design and Marquette University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career as a designer at Oshkosh Truck, worked at Snap-On Tools in Kenosha, Sunrise Medical in Neenah and Bruno Independent Living Aides in Oconomowoc. Eventually, his career landed back at Oshkosh Corporation where he worked to become a Senior Project Engineer and was able to travel to different cities around the world.
Jerry was an avid Packers fan and outdoorsman. In 1977 he shot the largest buck in Brown County, in Suamico.
Jerry is survived by his two sons: Justin McGlinn, Oshkosh and Colin McGlinn, Pulaski; four grandchildren: Amaia, Aiden, Xavier and Rosalie; two great grandchildren: Charlie and Elijah; two sisters: Sue (Steve) Pagel, Green Bay and Linda Granius, Green Bay; and a brother, Ken, Baribeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Doris; two brothers: Michael McGlinn and James McGlinn; and a sister, Kathleen (Dan) Van Den Elzen.
A celebration of life is being planned for later this summer.
