Delores A. Burdeau, 91, Flintville, passed away peacefully at her home, on May 2, 2023, surrounded by family. The daughter of John and Anna (Updenkelder) Hudson was born on December 9, 1931, in the Township of Morgan.

On April 21, 1951, Delores married Joseph Burdeau at St. Casimir Church in Krakow. Together the couple farmed for many years on their homestead in Flintville. After retirement, Delores and Joe enjoyed going on car rides and stopping along the way to visit friends and check out farmers’ fields to see how the crops were doing.

Delores spent the majority of her time outdoors and was an avid gardener; a weed never stood a chance in her garden. She adored spending time with her family and babysitting all of her grandchildren. She loved attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events and watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin football and basketball, and Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines.

Delores always enjoyed having her hair styled every Saturday, by various stylists through the years; especially when she would joke around with Mr. Anthony. The past few years, she enjoyed her visits to Cropsey’s Bar as well as eating at Old 29 Cafe. She was a longtime member of Ss. Edward & Isidore Parish and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Survivors include four children: Joe Jr. (Lois) Burdeau, JoAnne Burdeau, Jackie Burdeau, and Jodi (Mark) Schuettpelz; six grandchildren: John (Lynn) Burdeau, Steve (Stacy) Burdeau, Robbie Schuettpelz, Ashley (Matthew) May, Emily Schuettpelz (Ryley Watzka), and Katelyn Schuettpelz; five great-granddaughters: Kayla (Heinrich), Kristin, Julia, Jenna, and Jaelyn; a great-great-grandson, Maverick; her sister, Shelby (Don) Brusky; brother-in-law, Tom Perz; sister-in-law, Carol Hudson; godsons: Steven Perz and Jeff Curtiss; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband Joseph and parents, John and Anna, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Burdeau; her siblings: Dorothy (Leo) Truax, George (Jean) Hudson, Helen (Irvin) Burdeau, Gary (Betty) Hudson, Gordon (Sue) Hudson, Ivan (Terri) Hudson, Oscar (Jeanette) Hudson, Betty Lou Perz, Russell Hudson, and Eugene (Carol) Hudson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Earl and Catherine (Shippy) Burdeau; a brother-in-law, Earl “Duke” Burdeau; and a sister-in-law, Kate Burdeau.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Ss. Edward & Isidore Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Suamico, on Friday, May 12, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. David Hoffman presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the parish Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Ss-Edward-Isidore-Church-562136803967841

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bristol Hospice, especially Jen, Katie, and Jeremy, for the excellent care they gave Delores. They would also like to thank Dr. Scott Schinschke for the care he has given her through the years. In addition, the family is fortunate for the care JoAnne provided Mom throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Online condolences may be offered to Delores’ family at www.marnochafuneralhome.com or on the Marnocha Funeral Home Facebook page.
