Daniel “Dan” Ferfecki, 88, Pulaski, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at his home with his wife at his side. The son of the late John and Lucille (Liss) Ferfecki was born on February 19, 1935, at home in Little Suamico.

Dan was a 1954 graduate of Pulaski High School. Following high school, Dan served in the United States Army from June 20, 1955, until his honorable discharge on June 19, 1957. He served in an armored unit that specialized in tanks. After he honorably completed his military service, he married his wife, Barbara on May 10, 1958, at Assumption B.V.M Church in Pulaski.

During Dan’s life, he worked at Pulaski Chase Coop where he was an assistant manager, then started farming in the Township of Maple Grove in 1968. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Bona Council #4439 and the American Legion Post #337, Pulaski. He served on the planning/ zoning committee for Maple Grove as well as the Pulaski Shipping Board, both for 35 years. He also served on the Board of Adjustment in Shawano County for over 35 years. Dan was also a long-time member of Assumption B.V.M Parish.

Dan enjoyed mushroom picking. He loved his John Deere Tractor and four wheeler, chickens, gardens, and was known as a movie buff. He had a humble and witty way about him. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Barbara; his four children: Danny (Kathy) Ferfecki,
Gregg Ferfecki, Debbie (Patrick) McCormick, and Jean (Kelly) Kraning; three grandchildren: Victoria Busch (fiance’ R.J. Lambert), Joanna (Greg) Young, and Marie Kraning and Christina Clark; a great granddaughter; Jillian; his sister; Sharon (Dale) Krumrai; brother-in-law, Jim Saindon and sisters- in- law; Vanice Ferfecki and Audrey Ferfecki, and Judy Ferfecki, along with several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; John and Lucille; in-laws; Jim and Martha Blohowiak; a grandson; Anthony John; and his siblings; Richard Ferfecki, James “Skippy” Ferfecki, Gladys Saindon, and Paul Ferfecki.

Visitation will take place at Assumption B.V.M Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M, presiding. Following the Mass, military honors will be rendered by the Pulaski Area Veterans. A private family burial will take place on Friday, at 10 a.m., in Assumption B.V.M Cemetery.

The family would like to thank two of their special neighbors, Tom and Brenda VanDenbush and Adam and Melissa Thomas, as well as the Unity Hospice Team for being there and taking care of Dan.
