Cheryl Lynn Kozicki, 68, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2023, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay. She was born May 25, 1955, to Jerome and Irene (Pasowicz) Kozicki and was a 1973 graduate of Pulaski High School. Cheryl earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising in 1977 and her Master of Science degree in Vocational Education in 1991, both from University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Cheryl had an impressive career as a buyer and store manager for many companies like Pranges, Kohls, and Target. She was an instructor in the Fashion Merchandising and Marketing programs at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac. Cheryl really enjoyed teaching, particularly taking her students to national conventions and competitions. She loved fashion and design from an early age, starting with her practice mannequin head for styling hair, leading to many outfits she sewed herself, and ending with her love of People magazine to follow the stars in their fashion trends.
In addition to fashion, Cheryl loved traveling, both internationally and domestically. She was very proud of her college semester abroad in Switzerland, especially in an era when that was not common to do. While in Europe she was able to travel extensively seeing the sights, meeting people and experiencing the different cultures. She was equally comfortable camping and biking with friends, partying locally, and loved her annual birthday visits to Door County, one of her favorite haunts. Old photos show some pretty fun/wild times. Cheryl loved listening and dancing to the disco and R&B music of that era. As a young, independent, professional woman, she had arrived!
Cheryl was limited in her ability to travel and party these past few years but she continued to enjoy get togethers on a smaller scale, particularly luncheons with friends at her favorite restaurant, Los Banditos. So let’s raise our glass of margarita (or seven & seven), and have a toast to friends, family, love and life. We love you Cheryl.
Cheryl is survived by her siblings: Linda (Ken) Mielcarek, Jane (Steve) Ross, Kevin Kozicki, Pam Kozicki, and Kim (Thom) Flottemesch; nieces and nephews: Alaina Kozicki, Karrie (Jeremy) Ouellette, Michael (Jessica) Ross, Allison Ross and Dylan and Kamela Flottemesch; aunts: Valeria “Patsy” Stieber, Dolores (John) McIntyre, Sister Florence Pasowicz, SSJ-TOSF, and Lorraine Pasowicz; and her uncle, Ron Schwabenlender.
