On the night of June 2, 2023, Ann Marie Brewczynski, Algoma (formerly of Pulaski) peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family, tenderly taking the hand of her beloved husband Teddy, to dance the polka into heaven.
Ann was born on May 13, 1937 on the family farm of Anton and Mary (Paczkowski) Wisniewski. She grew up in Hofa Park and went to Elm Lawn Grade School. Ann always remembered great times with the surrounding neighbors. She attended Pulaski High School where she loved playing trombone in the band and going to Kwaley’s restaurant for lunch. She graduated with the class of 1955.
After high school, she worked at Western Electric in Chicago, Marathon Corporation in Menasha, and Bronson’s in Seymour.
On July 7, 1956 Ann married the love of her life, Teddy Brewczynski, at St. Stanislaus Church in Hofa Park and had a big Polish wedding reception. Ann and Teddy’s love story would last for 56 years until Teddy’s passing in 2012. In those wonderful years, Ann and Teddy raised two amazing children in Pulaski and were completely devoted to them and each other. They truly enjoyed every second of their lives and could be found bowling in couples leagues or playing bridge with other local couples. Ann was always a gracious host and a wonderful cook. They also enjoyed fishing together up north on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, where they owned a cottage for many years. Ann and Teddy loved music and when not singing in the choir at ABVM, they were inseparable dance partners, rounding the dance floors to polkas and waltzes everywhere.
On her own, Ann loved volunteering at the ABVM school and parish. She also liked being part of the Pulaski Ladies Financial Club, and playing golf, especially in Laona, though she never did quite learn to hit the ball right, which was just fine with her. Later in life, she enjoyed winning jackpots at the Oneida Casino, and watching the Brewers. One of her proudest activities however, was giving blood for many years. Because of her special blood type, she was able to save many lives, especially the lives of premature babies which made her so very happy.
Ann was very fond of helping the people of Pulaski, having spent many years working for Peplinski’s Hardware. She absolutely adored the community. Later in life, she had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside her husband Teddy.
Ann is survived by her son, Tom of Algoma and daughter,r Tracey (Steven Karcz) of Pulaski, and special friends Maxine Westein and Arlove Tetzlaff. She is preceded in death by her husband Teddy, daughter Terri, parents Anton and Mary Wisniewski, and brother Anton Jr.
Per Ann’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to all of those who were so kind and loving on Mom’s journey: Dr. Malena Dzwonkowski, Dr. Anupama Verma, Dr. Steven Neu and nurse Christi, and all the wonderful nurses who cared for her at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
