Lorraine Helen Baran (Wojciechowski), 91, Sobieski, passed away peacefully April 24, 2021 at Grancare Nursing Center, Green Bay.

She was born September 10, 1929, in Sobieski, WI to the late Leo and Helen (Wanic) Wojciechowski.  On October 28, 1950, she married Alex Baran in Sobieski.  They were married 48 years.  The couple raised their family in Melrose Park, IL and moved back to Sobieski in 1975.  Lorraine loved crafting, flowers, bird-watching, soap operas, white chocolate truffles, ice cream with extra whipped cream, bingo and a good polka show.  Her happiest times were spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fur grand babies.

Survivors include; her sister, Theresa Leja; two sons, Dan (Faith) Baran and Rick Baran; two daughters, Patty (Doug) Roskom and Carol Baran; grandchildren, Brian (Tessa) Baran, Niki (Wayne) Hernandez, Zach (Erica) Baran, Rachael Van Ess (Ryan Drews) and Abby Van Ess; great-grandchildren, Easton Baran, Grayson and Everett Hernandez and Kayley Baran; and all her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Baran, one brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Mary Wojciechowski, and one brother-in-law, Leo Leja.

The family would like to thank Grancare Gardens, Grancare Nursing Center and Compassus Hospice for their excellent care of Lorraine.

Extended family and close friends are invited to gather with the family from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon, on Saturday, May 1, at the Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. The Funeral Service will take place at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. John Cantius Cemetery, Sobieski.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Lorraine’s name to Green Bay Animal Rescue, P.O.Box 10334, Green Bay, WI 54307.

Since it might not be possible to be with the family in person, you are welcome to send any cards of condolence to the funeral home (make sure you put the family’s name on the outside envelope and your return address) and we will forward your cards and messages to the Baran family.
