Lorraine “Gabby” Brokiewicz, 96, Pulaski, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 28, 2021, at Sun Valley Senior Assisted Living Facility, Oconto. The daughter of Carl and Nora (Anderson) Thompson was born April 11, 1925, in Green Bay.

Lorraine married William Brokiewicz in April of 1942. She worked for the Pulaski Shoe Factory and as a cook for Americana East Nursing Home for 22 years until her retirement. Lorraine was a member of St. Casimir Church in Krakow and was also a member of the St. Casimir Rosary Society. She made and sold Christmas Cards and loved ceramics. She would always brighten someone’s day by singing “you are my sunshine”.

Lorraine is survived by her three children: Cookie Konitzer, Abrams; Jim (Mavis) Brokiewicz, Mountain; and Charlie (Bonnie) Brokiewicz, Denver, CO; 14 grandchildren: Troy (April) Konitzer, Luxemburg; Tim (Shannon) Konitzer, Abrams; Amy (Don) Demeny, Abrams; Scott (Stacey) Brokiewicz, Germantown;  Randy (Shannon) Brokiewicz, Germantown; Tricia (Rob) Stone, Gillett; Bill (Bridget) Drew, St. Marys, KS; Ron Drew, Krakow; Carrie (Mike) Puyleart, Oconto Falls; Barron Brokiewicz, Green Bay; Mark (Sherry) Brokiewicz, Green Valley; Carlette (Dave) Matuszak, Pulaski; Navida Brokiewicz, Pulaski; and Cammi (Rick) VanNooyen, Green Bay. She is further survived by 46 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Delores Bickel; two brothers: LaVerne Thompson and Carl “Ace” (Mary) Thompson; former daughter-in-law, Shirley Brokiewicz; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Quinn Konitzer and Robby Brokiewicz; great-grandson, Dalton Brokiewicz; brothers, Ray (Irene) Thompson and Lyle Thompson; and a son-in-law, John Konitzer.

Friends are invited to gather with the family from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Friday, July 2, at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 126 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon with Fr. Tim Bickel presiding. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Krakow.

The family would like to thank the entire Sun Valley staff for being wonderful caregivers to Lorraine for the past two years.
