Leslie J. LaCount, 75, Pulaski, passed away peacefully Monday, March 1, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family. The son of Robert and Rita LaCount was born September 8, 1945, at the home of his Uncle Wes and Aunt Mabel Simoens. He was raised on the family farm and attended Pittsfield North School house, which he later owned.
Les served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he married the love of his life, Tari A. Wilson, on October 20, 1964. Les and Tari owned and operated the North Chase Bar. They later took over the family farm and raised their six children. Throughout his life he had many trades. Farming and truck driving were his passions for work and, for the majority of his career, Les drove as an owner/operator. Les was most recently employed with J & W Enterprises, and retired in July of 2020 due to his illness.
Les enjoyed riding motorcycle, throwing horseshoes, shooting pool, hunting, and camping. There was nothing greater than gathering with family and friends. He looked forward to the annual booyah / bonfire. He led the family tradition of making booyah for more than 35 years. He would challenge everyone to stay up all night and become king/queen of the fire, a title he held for many years.
