Jerry (Jerome Paul) Denissen, 69, Green Valley, died peacefully Wednesday morning, May 16. 2018, at Shawano Health Services, with his loving wife at his side. The son of Maurice and Jeanette (Anzalone) Denissen was born February 17, 1949, in Green Bay. Jerry grew up in Allouez, attended St. Matthew’s Grade School, and was a graduate of Abbott Pennings High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, 2/12 1st Air Cav. Div. USARV, and had served one year in combat in Vietnam, where he was exposed to Agent Orange and later suffered with PTSD and Alzheimer Disease. After his discharge from the service, Jerry worked at Georgia Pacific for 33 years, and retired in 2004.

On June 24, 1994, he married Terry Drella. The couple made their home in Pulaski until moving to Green Valley. Jerry enjoyed deer hunting, and shooting his bow. If he wasn’t out hunting or spending time in the woods he was reading hunting magazines or watching hunting shows.

Survivors include his wife, Terry; his daughter, Kari (Keith) Cunnien, their son, Isaiah, and a baby due any day; Travis (Kylee) Rudnick, and their daughters: Deanna, Makayla, and Emma; Wendy (Chad) Herlache and their children: Tanner and Audrey; and his mother, Jeanette Denissen. Jerry is further survived by four sisters: Pam (Jim) Smythe, Jane (Jim) Duchemin, Robbie (Chuck) Wiseman, and Patty (Bruce) Holewinski; and Terry’s family: Dave (Carol) Drella, Audrey (Gordie) Aprill, Rosie (Roger) Wirtz, Virginia Luepke, and Ruth (Brian) Hoppe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy, on May 1, 2016; his father, Maurice Denissen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ray and Florence Drella; and his canine sons, Buck and Otis.

The Funeral Service took place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21st at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., officiating, followed by military honors by the Pulaski Area Veterans.
