Helena “Busia” Szczepaniec, 86, Sobieski, died Thursday, October 3, 2019. The daughter of the late Stanislawa and Anna (Rudniak) Jerszynska was born December 29, 1932, in Poland. On October 29, 1948, she married Frank Szczepaniec in Germany. The couple moved to Chicago, where she had been employed at Zenith and O’Henry. In 1971, the family moved to Sobieski. She was employed at Carver Yacht until retiring on April 18, 1998.

Helen was a devout and faith-filled member of SS. Edward & Isidore Church in Flintville, where she volunteered at funeral luncheons. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cooking. A survivor of the WWII work camps in Germany, Helen was proud of her family and loved them very much.

Survivors include her children: Terre (George) Watt, Barbara (Anthony) Anasenes, Frank (Cindy) Szczepaniec, Elizabeth (Gary) Dudzik, Lucy (Michael) Slusarek, and Adam (Jola) Szczepaniec; grandchildren: Joshua, Talia, Nicole (Ernesto), Steven, Anthony (Allison), Russell (Marci), Sarah (Gilberto), Michael (Becka), Jill (Joe), Tia (Andrew), Shawn (Ethan), Apryl (Matthias), Aaron (Melissa), Abbie (Samuel), Brian, Jaclynn (Chris), and Jessica (Joe); great-grandchildren: Lorenzo, Bailey, Brandon, Maddy, Ariana, Taya, Ava, Maya, Parker, Airia, Luna and Aurora; a sister: Joanna “Janka”; nieces and nephews: Siggy (Nancy), Andy, Eddie (Ronnie), Donna (Anthony), Alice (John), Sophie (Ben), Mitch (Betty), Gracie, and many other loved ones and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Szczepaniec, Sr.; siblings and spouses: Irene (William), Stephen (Jadwiga), Felix, Helen (Stanley), and special pet, Clio.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8th at SS. Edward & Isidore Church in Flintville, Fr. Brendan Wroblewski, O.F.M. presiding. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
