Garry L. Stevens, 83, Pulaski, went to join family and friends in heaven peacefully Friday morning, April 30, 2021, at Meadowwood CBRF in Seymour. The son of Earl and Marie (Kussman) Stevens was born April 26, 1938, in the Town of DuPont and graduated from Marion High School. He was a US Army National Guard veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #337, Pulaski and the AmVets Post #160, Pulaski.

Garry was very proud of his ‘three million miles” over-the-road truck driving. He was also proud that he was able to visit almost every state, with the exception of Alaska which remained on his bucket list. He also drove bus for the Pulaski Community School District for several years. He was an avid Packers fan.

Garry was quite the tinkerer; he could fix just about anything. He was a sweet, kind, and loving man, and was always a good and patient listener.

Survivors include his daughter: Debra Hoffman (Tim Kaye), Pulaski; two granddaughters: Rachel (Joseph) Cary, Bonduel and Hilary (Benjamin) Vogt, Pulaski; two great-grandsons: Daniel and Jacob Cary; his first and second wives: Joann Tronsen and Gloria Stevens; a brother-in-law: Vern Christensen and a sister-in-law: Janet Stevens.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law: Daniel Hoffman; his siblings: Donald, Frances, Joann, and John; and his best bud, his dog Booger.

Friends are invited to gather with the family to celebrate Garry’s life, tell stories and that sort of thing from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13th at the Pulaski American Legion Hall. Light refreshments will be served. Garry will be buried in Roseland Cemetery, Marion, at a later date.

Since it might not be possible to be with the family in person, you are welcome to send any cards of condolence to the funeral home (make sure you put the family’s name on the outside envelope and your return address) and we will forward your cards and messages to the Stevens family.
