Elizabeth Bernice Oskey, 91, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Unity Hospice, De Pere. Liz was born October 28, 1929, to the late Joseph and Clara (Stopka) Gaura.
On September 30, 1950, she married Ervin F. Oskey at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Sobieski and, this past September, they celebrated 70 loving years of marriage with their children. After being at home to raise four children and being both a Cub Scout and Brownie leader, Liz worked for Camera Corner as their bookkeeper for 15 years. In 1976, Liz and Ervin retired and built a house in Flintville. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Ashwaubenon and then, Ss. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church. Liz enjoyed gardening, reading, bowling, playing cards and being with family and friends. For over 65 years Liz was a member of a card club with a group of special friends from Cottage Grove Avenue in Ashwaubenon.
Elizabeth is survived by family: Son, Jim (Bobbie) Oskey, Pittsfield, Grandchild Jesse (Valerie) Oskey, great-grandchildren Alana and Layla; Grandchild Jamie (Poncho) Lopez, great grand-children Millie and Mateo; Grandchildren, Sam Oskey and Jenna Oskey; Daughter, Sharon (Ken) Nelson, Southlake, TX, Grandchildren Curt Krueger and John (Alesha) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Keon and Xavier; Grandchild, Ashley Nelson, great-grandchildren Malachi and Everlyn; Daughter, Deb (Gregg) Ferron, Suamico, Grandchild Shelly (Troy) Staehler, great-grandchildren Maggie, Sydney and Riley, grandchild Anne (Rick) Gay, great-grandchildren Henry, Ruby, Kasey, and Winnie; Son, Mike (LuEllen) Oskey, Green Bay, Grandchildren Nicki (Roy) Campshure and Joe (Hilary) Oskey, great-grandchild John; one sister; Chris Tilque, Green Bay; one sister-in-law: Jean O’Keefe, De Pere, and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ervin Oskey, passed away on December 15, 2020. Her parents, and her brothers and sisters: Julia (Ted) Pszanka, Lottie (Stanley) Grochowski, Stella (Pete) Mathews, Peter (Alice) Gaura, Mary (Gus) Kariotis, Anthony (Marie) Gaura, Isadore (Jane) Gaura, Clara (Bob) Sandstrom, and a brother-in-law, Dick Tilque also preceded her in death.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Brookview Meadows for the loving care and compassion given to Liz and Erv. They also appreciate the special care given by Unity Hospice and in lieu of flowers, request a donation to Unity Hospice.
A private Funeral Mass for the family will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, at Ss. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, Flintville with Father Dave Hoffman presiding. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the parish Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Ss-Edward-Isidore-Church-562136803967841. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
