Edwin Lee “Ed” Hollinger Sr. age 79, Sobieski, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 7, 1941, in Catawba to Richard and Ruby (Tague) Hollinger. He married Elaine Heinlein on February 25, 1961, in Prentice, and together had three children. Ed and his family owned and operated their dairy farm in Prentice for a number of years. Later in life, he established his own saw sharpening service and also created many scroll-saw silhouette characters. The joy of farming never left Ed, and he became a passionate Miniature Dachshund owner and AKC breeder. Every dog was personally named and dearly loved. His dogs were part of the family that were pampered and bedded in luxuries above his own simple lifestyle. Ed enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

Ed had many interests in life and the ability to fix and repair things served him well. He and his son spent many hours in the garage rebuilding and restoring collector cars. As a die-hard Mopar enthusiast, Ed also had an eye for any unique car. Among many hobbies, Ed liked being challenged with anything electronic; whether it was his massive room-filling entertainment system, where he enjoyed listening to country music or watching old westerns, sitcoms, and the ever-present CNN, or fixing and building computers, a self-taught achievement. He was an avid Packers fan; shouting on televised game days was a given.

Survivors include his wife Elaine of Sobieski; his son, Edwin Jr. of Suring; his two daughters: Alana Sutherland of Prior Lake, MN and Tammie Hollinger of Mosinee; seven grandchildren: Brad Sutherland, Danny (Rebecca), Adam (Joann) Sutherland, Angelina (Eric) Meinke, Tamara (Marvin) Coleman, Vance (Monica) Grubbs, Derek (Celeste) Grubbs; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters, and son-in-law, Stephen Sutherland.

Private family services were held Saturday, February 8th at the funeral home with Pastor Titus Naftanaila officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ogema. He was loved and will be deeply missed by many. We will cherish our memories of you! Until we meet again.
