David “Davey” Allen Johnson, 81, Pulaski, passed away peacefully, December 18, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay, surrounded by family. The son of the late William and Ruby (Andy) Peterson was born May 17, 1940, in Long Lake, WI.
David proudly served his country in the US Army from May 26, 1960, until his honorable discharge on May 25, 1962. On June 27, 1964, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Schroeder in Wabeno. David worked as a fiberglass tech at Carver Yachts for almost 30 years until retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going to the casino, shaking bar dice, and shooting pool. He was an avid bird watcher, and especially loved spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty; his three children and their families: Corrina (Joe) Christoph, and their children, Zachary (Tasha), Dawson (Maddy), Bryce and Brooklyn; Shawn Johnson (Erin Lazansky), and their children, Alex, Benny, and Daemon; and Wendy Johnson (Mike Brunette) and their children, Christian (Nicole), Kolten, Grace, Evan, Jacob, and Skylar. He is further survived by his sister, Ina (Don) Lamb; a brother, Herb (Cindy) Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Edward (Delores) Johnson, Hilma (Robert) Hubbard, Effie (Norbert) Rass, Patsy (Larry) Bialik, William (Edie) Johnson, Gary (Rose) Johnson and Leonard (Jan) Johnson; and a nephew, Joe “JoJo” Nickolai.
Friends are invited to gather with the family on Monday, December 27, at St. John Lutheran Church, 910 S. St. Augustine St., Pulaski, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Yaw officiating. Military honors provided by the Pulaski Area Veterans will follow in the church parking lot. Burial will be at a later date in Elm Grove Cemetery, Laney.
