David C. Ullmer, 70, Pulaski, died unexpectedly and peacefully Wednesday morning, February 17, 2021, at his home. The son of Ronald and Betty Ullmer was born October 20, 1950, in Howard. The family moved to Pulaski when he was a boy. Dave was a 1969 graduate of Pulaski High School where he was a long time record holder in the Track and Field high hurdles. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had served in Germany during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the American Legion, Post #337, Pulaski. Dave was employed for many years at the family’s grocery store, Super Ron’s.
Dave enjoyed golfing and watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved his family very much. Dave really adored his nieces and nephews and their families.
Survivors include his siblings: Kristine (Fran) Ullmer, Pulaski, John Ullmer, Howard, Charlie Ullmer, Green Bay, Ginny (Larry) Westenberg, Freedom; he will further be missed by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Michael; a niece, Katie Ullmer; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ullmer.
Guests will be required to wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines. Friends are invited to gather with the family from 1-3 p.m. Monday at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. A rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place in Assumption B.V.M Cemetery in the spring.
