Daniel E. Skogg, 66, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The son of James and Mary (Brick) Skogg was born March 22, 1956, in Green Bay.
Dan grew up in Green Bay, he attended St. Jude’s School through 8th grade and was a 1974 graduate of Green Bay West High School. Following high school, he attended NWTC earning an Associate Degree in Business. He also earned a diploma from Hamburger University in Oakbrook, IL.
Dan married Nancy Menger on October 14, 1988. He was a manager for McDonald’s for over 50 years, until his retirement in 2021. He won the outstanding manager award in 2012 and 2015 and was also awarded the Ray Kroc award in 2015.
Dan enjoyed deer hunting with his son and brothers and his yearly fishing trip to Canada with his friends. Dan and Nancy also enjoyed traveling and going to Dennis and Karen’s cabin on Shawano Lake. He was an avid sports fan, he loved to watch the Packers, Brewers and Badgers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy; son, Josh (Jaime) Skogg and their children, Hailey, Austin and Oaklynn; three siblings: Steve (Tammy) Skogg, Peter (Chris) Skogg, and Ann (Mike) Salscheider. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne (Annette) Menger, Barbie (Karl) Appleton, Dan (Meri) Menger, and Tim (Shelly) Menger, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, James and Mary, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fritz and Ludy Menger; brother-in-law, Roger Menger, and sisters-in-law: Kathy Ashworth, Mary Beth Menger, and Becky Mann.
Friends are invited to gather at St. John the Baptist Church, 2957 Glendale Ave., Green Bay, on Wednesday, November 16, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. with Fr. James Lucas presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House in Dan’s name.
