Aurelia R. Nowak, 91, Hobart, passed away peacefully, January 15, 2022, at Emerald Bay Memory Care Facility, Hobart, with her nieces at her side. The daughter of Peter and Frances (Wisniewski) Nowak was born September 4, 1930, in Angelica.

Aurelia grew up in the Pulaski area and graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1949. Following high school she worked at the Pulaski Shoe Factory and Green Bay Packaging in Green Bay. Aurelia moved to Milwaukee in the 1960’s. She worked and lived there for over 50 years, working at George Meyer, Milwaukee Resistor, and in the school cafeteria until her retirement at age 76 in 2006. Aurelia loved watching cardinals, crocheting, listening to Lawrence Welk, tending her flowers, and making an occasional trip to the casino.

Aurelia is survived by the love of her life, her yellow Labrador, Sandy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Frances Nowak; siblings: Esther (Peter) Karcz, Arthur (Dorothy) Nowak, Bernie (Regina) Nowak, Geraldine (Al) Shomberg, and Maryann (Richard “Butch”) Wojcik.

Friends are invited to gather with the family at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, on Thursday, January 20, from 10-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Matt Simonar presiding. Entombment will take place in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Emerald Bay Memory Care staff, especially Jalynn, and the Heartland Hospice Team for the outstanding care provided to Aurelia. They would also like to thank Chaplin Josh and Fr. Matt for guiding her spiritually.
