Tom Drella, 84, Sobieski, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at a Green Bay hospital. The son of Thomas and Marie (Oliver) Drella was born April 19, 1933, at home in the town of Pittsfield. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and married Viola Morse on October 10, 1953, while home on leave. The couple farmed and cash cropped in the Town of Chase for 32 years. Tom also drove for Red Owl until retiring in 1989. He had served on the Town Board in the Town of Chase.

Tom loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed visits to the cabin on the Michagamme Reservoir. If anyone needed a fishing report, Tom was the go-to fishing buddy. He could embellish a story with the best of them and always enjoyed a good game of cards. Tom was very proud of his family and delighted in his grandchildren.

Survivors include wife, Viola; four children: Steve (Chris) Drella, Pulaski, Jeanne (Neil) Zajac, Pulaski, Rhonda Wetzel (special friend, Todd), McHenry, IL, and Amy (Bob) VanderBloemen, Pulaski; 10 grandchildren: Derric, Jeff, and Ethan, Zac, Angie (Joe), Lizzi, and Abbey, Kurt (Danielle), Kyle, and Konnor; three great grandchildren: Levi, Eleanor, and Lucy; Viola’s brother, Walter Sigl, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers-in-law: Agnes (Ray) Reimer, Harriet (Ray) VandenPlas, Alice (Ed) Bieda, Rose (Dick) Tiesling, and Don DeBauche; an infant twin brother; and a brother, Lawrence Drella.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12th at SS. Edward & Isidore Church in Flintville, Fr. David Hoffman presiding, followed by military honors by the Pulaski Area Veterans.
