Noreen S. Smith, 74, Pulaski, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side Saturday, January 19, 2019. The daughter of George and Marcelline (Van Enkenvoort) Whitman was born June 2, 1944, in Appleton. She was a 1962 graduate of Appleton High School, and worked for Allstate as a secretary for a couple years after high school. On June 6, 1964, she married Richard L. Smith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. The couple had a small hobby farm in Sparta until they moved to Angelica where they purchased a dairy farm on June 1, 1970. Dick preceded Noreen in death on December 23, 2017.
Noreen was a dedicated homemaker, farm wife, mother, and proud grandmother. Noreen and Dick enjoyed traveling; they took numerous trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, Arizona, and Florida. She liked to watch Wheel of Fortune, and was a Little House on the Prairie fanatic. Noreen also enjoyed gambling and playing Yahtzee.
Survivors include two sons: Tim (Barb) Smith, Pulaski, and Tom Smith, Pulaski; one grandson, Brandon Smith, Pulaski; siblings: Denise Opper, Seymour, Karen (Wayne) Kruse, Suring, and George Jr. (Teri) Whitman, Greenleaf; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Noreen was preceded in death by two infant sisters: Naomi and Sandra; one brother, Ronald Whitman; and one brother-in-law, Collins Opper.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 12:00 noon Saturday at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., presiding. Entombment took place in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
