Mark S. Johnson, 64, Pulaski, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 8, 2017, at his home with his family at his side. The son of Toivo and Frances (Kostelnik) Johnson was born June 3, 1953, in Hurley. Mark was a 1971 graduate of J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley.

On September 4, 1999, he married Laura Prokopovitz. Mark had worked for the Shawano County Highway Department for 20 years, until his retirement in 2016. He had served as a volunteer firefighter in the town of Oma prior to relocating to the Pulaski area.

Mark liked working in his shop. He was mechanically talented and truly a “Jack of all trades,” patiently fixing everything Laura broke. Mark greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He took pride in his home and yard and always kept them immaculate. Mark was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed a good beer. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Laura, and their furry canine kids: Cletus and Abby; four siblings: Tom (Judy) Johnson, Two Rivers, Linda (Dennis) Buzzar, DeForest, Mary (Gene) Vandevoorde, Green Bay, and Kathy Johnson, Baraboo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jim Prokopovitz, Sue (Mel) Karcz, Peter Prokopovitz, Mary (Tom) Holewinski, Ann (Gregg) Mroczynski, Jane (John “Beau”) Nowak, Beth (Mark) Hansen, and Amy (Neal) Holewinski; god daughter, Libby (Troy) Woodard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Funeral Service was celebrated at New Life Community Church, Pulaski, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, Pastor Bob Wied officiating.
