Kathleen J. (Matuszak) Blohowiak, 66, Pulaski, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018. The daughter of Harold and Marie (Zielinski) Matuszak was born July 16, 1951, in Green Bay. She married Patrick Blohowiak on March 7, 1970, and the couple was married for 45 years. They moved to Peshtigo in 1982 where they raised their family. Kathleen worked as a bridal seamstress for 30 years and also worked at a bank for 16 years until her retirement in July, 2016.

Kathleen was a member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish, where she belonged to the Council of Catholic Women. Kathleen had also been a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Peshtigo, where she belonged to the Women of Faith. Kathleen shared her God-given gift of voice in the church choir and she had also served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Kathleen enjoyed sewing, gardening, and she loved her flower beds. She bowled in a women’s league for 25 years and still has the shoes! Kathleen was always singing. She loved listening to music as well as cooking and baking. Kathleen gracefully braved a 13-year struggle with cancer. Her greatest love was her family and friends, especially her daughters and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters: Sandra (John) Fragassi, and Lisa Garcia; four grandchildren: Kyle, Nathan, and Anna Fragassi, and Matthew Garcia; her mother, Marie Matuszak; siblings: Carol Gorecki, Janet Parker, Mary Kay (Richard) Piechocki, Dennis (LuAnn) Matuszak, Richard (Sandy) Matuszak, Francis (Mary) Matuszak, Bernard (Karen) Matuszak, Michael (Lorraine) Matuszak, Betty (Lee) Ward, Linda (Richard) Steinbrecher, Annette (Christopher) Caelwaerts, Donald (Rhonda) Matuszak, Connie (Edward) Filipiak, Harold (Nicole) Matuszak, and Dean (Josie) Matuszak; two brothers-in-law: Sylvan (Jean) Swiecichowski, and Alan (Darlene) Kraszewski; three Godchildren; 112 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two children: Jean and Joan Blohowiak; her father, Harold Matuszak; siblings: Charlene Swiecichowski and Rosemary Kraszewski; nieces: Tara Piechocki and Rochelle Swiecichowski; one nephew, Alan Kraszewski, Jr.; and her furry friend, Nala Fragassi.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Pulaski, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., presiding. Burial took place in Kunesh Cemetery.
