Jeanette A. Babik, 91, Sobieski, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 8, 2017. The daughter of Felix and Mary (Stodolniak) Zawalick was born October 23, 1925. On November 27, 1943, she married Louis Babik at St. John Cantius Church in Sobieski. Louis preceded Jeanette in death on November 23, 1983.

Jeanette was a lifetime, active member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister, and regularly helped with picnics and funeral lunches. She was a member of the Resurrection Choir. Jeanette also belonged to the Golden Agers, Little Suamico. Every Friday she enjoyed playing cards with the Senior Group.

She was an excellent cook and baker. Jeanette did a lot of quilting and made homemade pajamas for her grandchildren every year. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening; famous for her cactuses. Jeanette also liked to go fishing.

Survivors include three sons: Richard (Bonnie) Babik, Gillett, Michael (Beth) Babik, Sobieski, Anthony (Joan) Babik, Sobieski; six grandchildren: Christopher (Heather) Babik, Amy Babik, and Justin (Tammy) Babik, Andrea (Eric) Feldmann, Jeremy (Beth) Babik, and Brittany (special friend, Chad) Babik; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernie Zawalick, Green Bay; one brother-in-law, Fritz Janus, Pelican Lake; three sisters-in-law: Shirley Zawalick, Green Bay, Julie Zawalick, Dousman, and Violet Babik, Hancock; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; one great-grandson, Tyler Babik; two brothers: Ted Zawalick and Leo Zawalick; three sisters: Alice (John) Ignatowski, Vi Janus, and Lorraine “Red” (Daniel) Slezewski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Al (Rose) Skalitzky and Ann (Gene) Steffy, and Joseph Babik.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13th at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Sobieski, Fr. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M., presiding. Burial will took place in St. John Cantius Cemetery, Sobieski.
