James M. “Jim” Schweda, 81, Krakow, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, May 17, 2017, at his home. The son of Casimir “Casey” and Lillian (Baranski) Schweda was born February 8, 1936, in Krakow. After graduating from Pulaski High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and had served stateside and in Germany. On November 5, 1966, he married his beloved, doting wife, Corrine Zima, in Green Bay. The couple made their home and raised their family in Krakow on Jim’s family’s homestead. He had been employed at Fru-Con for over 35 years as a construction foreman.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family and friends at Crooked Lake with Friday night double-bubble at the Weatherwood. He was a member of the American Legion Post #337, Pulaski, and Local 330 of the Laborers Union, for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Corrine; four daughters: Barbara (John) Hendrickson, Appleton, Nancy (Keith) Van Lannen, Pulaski, Christine Schweda, Bonduel, and Susan (Joe Berna) Schweda, Krakow; a grandson, Michael Hendrickson; two step-grandchildren: John Hendrickson and Matt Hendrickson; Joe’s daughter, Samantha Wilson, who has been a part of the family since she was a little girl; one brother-in-law, Jim (Sharon) Zima, Green Bay; a niece, Sharon (Daryl) Nowak, Krakow; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his only sister and brother-in-law, Julie (Dominic) Hodkiewicz; and a nephew, Jimmy Hodkiewicz.

The Funeral Service was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26th at Marnocha Funeral Home, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., officiating, followed by military honors by the Pulaski Area Veterans.
