Betty J Cheslock, 90, of Hobart, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2017. She was born August 2, 1927, in Green Bay, to Roland and Verna (Kaminecki) Laubenstein. She will be in heaven with her husband, Al, for his birthday on 12/7 and they can dance to their favorite song, Waltz Across Texas. What a blessing for mom and dad to be in each other’s arms again, along with having the Lord’s arms wrapped around both of them.

Betty was very proud of the many jobs she held. She worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company and Seymour Telephone Company as an operator during the times when you had a party line and could hear her sweet voice say “number, please.” For many years she worked for the Pulaski Community School District in various capacities.   She was most proud of the years spent working as an aide for special needs children. Even though she was the aide/helper they touched her life in so many ways; she still communicated with many of those students. She had many wonderful memories and stories to share about the staff from Pulaski schools.

Betty always enjoyed cooking and baking. She was famous for her chicken booyah, Christmas cookies and Christmas candy. Her children remember getting off the bus to the smell of homemade donuts and bread. Her other joys in life were family, trips to the casino, Daniel O’Donnell, and dancing with the love of her life. As she aged, she felt most secure when one of her daughters, granddaughters or great granddaughters was with her. She never let them have a short visit because she always wanted them to “stay just a little longer.” Mom, we love you and love that you cherished the time we spent together.

Betty is survived by her sons and daughters: Dick (Norma) Cheslock, twins: Keith (Jolene) Cheslock and Kathy (Joe) Olszewski, Lynn Cheslock, and Terri (Scott) Stutzman; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Larry (Joan) Laubenstein; sisters: Sharon (George) Whalen and Carol Rubens; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al; her parents: Roland and Verna Laubenstein; her in laws: Mike and Dora Cheslock; an infant grandson: Anthony Ferfecki; her brothers: Jerry and Alan Laubenstein; and brothers-in-laws: Jerry Stone and Bob Rubens.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11th at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., presiding. Burial took place in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Navarino.
