Barbara Slezewski, 85, Pulaski, died peacefully Monday morning, May 7, 2018, at her home with her family at her side. The daughter of the late Fred and Lucille (Frank) Zahn was born November 24, 1932, in Green Bay. Her parents were the caretakers of the Barkhausen Game Preserve for 50 years. The entire family worked hard and loved what they were doing. The family had a pet fox, Lucky, for 13 years. Barb was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She met Frank Slezewski, who was the driver of her school bus, at that time. After graduation Barb had been employed at Woody’s Cheese in Green Bay and then worked at Schweger’s Drug Store (East) until she married Frank on October 6, 1956, at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. The couple made their home and raised their family just outside of Pulaski.

Barb was a very unselfish person who always put others before herself. She enjoyed watching the birds, playing cards, and cooking and trying new recipes for her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; one daughter and son-in-law: Cindy and Lee Herman, Pulaski; one son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Tina Slezewski, Pulaski; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: Jason and Christina Herman and their daughter, Amelia; and Kayla and Cole Slezewski; one sister: Pat Miller, Bellevue; one sister-in-law: Norena Zahn, Green Bay; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Zahn, and two sisters and brothers-in-law: Janice (Ken) Fischer and Joyce (Wally) Hansen.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14th at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M. presiding. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
